Most of the Steampunk Airship are just a little too Fantasy like for my taste. Also, I would like to actually build a 3D model of the Airship in After Effects. That means I have to keep it simple and geometric, with mostly flat planes and a few curves.
I started with the basic interior Control Room riveted metal wall and turned it copper verdigris for an outside view, adding searchlights, fog horns and position lights:
Then I started to build a side view combining the different panels with a taper, adding a superstructure, a brass rudder and fins cylindrical turbine, and various props and characters, placing it in the sky in front of a simplified"Cranescape". It is basic, but it is a start, and I like the color scheme:
